Australia's first taste of her new record.

Last night Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter and all-around genuine human Julia Michaels returned to Nova’s Red Room for the second time.

Julia Michaels treated a handful of her biggest fans to the very first Australian live performance of her new record ‘Inner Monologue Part 1’.

And yes, it was everything you thought it would be, plus more.

During the performance, Julia showed her vulnerable side to her fans while sharing the meaning & emotions behind her new EP, including the track ‘Anxiety’ ft. Selena Gomez.

"The feeling of anxiety can be kind of intense, so I wanted to write a song about that and sort of make it a little bit more fun. I think anxiety can be so dark & intense that sometimes it’s kind of nice to add a little light to it"

She continued the performance with another new track 'What A Time' ft. Niall Horan. Julia chatted about writing this song & approaching her good friend Niall to feature on the song.

"I was like do you want to listen and tell me if you like it.. and he listened to it and he was like 'I love it'"

Her fans were also lucky enough to hear new tracks 'Deep' & 'Happy' as well as 2018 track 'Miss You'.

Julia finished the beautiful set with her debut hit 'Issues', sharing

"This song changed my life completely, and I think actually one of the first places we ever sang this song was here in Australia. Actually, it was the first”

Through song-writing for the likes of Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, P!nk & Christina Aguilera - Julia has transitioned into a fierce force in her own right, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.

If you haven't already, make sure you download her new EP Inner Monologue Part 1.

For now, please enjoy the incredible talent that is Julia Michaels.
