Oh dang!

Good news for jetsetters with bubs: Virgin Australia has become the first and only airline to allow cost-free checked baggage for its youngest travellers.

Basically, parents no longer have to stuff baby things in their own luggage (and buy additional allowances btw) with an extra 23 kilos dedicated to bub belongings FO FREE.

The change in policy allows families with infants 23 months and under to check  another 23kg of luggage, on the house - yes that’s a lot of ‘23s’.

Parents travelling with youngins will also be able to include an extra 7kg carry-on bag for baby related stuff.

So a total 30kg all up.

In a statement to Yahoo!, Virgin Australia general manager of ground operations Paul Woosnam said the new changes would allow ease travel woes for all parents:

“We know travelling with an infant can be incredibly stressful and we’re pleased to make that journey a little more effortless by introducing an infant baggage allowance on domestic and international flights,” Woosnam said.

“We want to be the airline of choice for travelling families and we’re proud to be the only carrier in Australia to recognise that travelling with an infant sometimes means packing far more than usual.

"We think parents will be pleased too, as they can now pack a little extra for themselves on their next trip.”
