This is now the third recall on eggs.

A third egg recall has been announced this morning regarding batches of organic eggs stocked at Woolworths, IGA and other supermarkets.

The recall is due to potential salmonella contamination.

The recall is for the 300g (6-pack) and the 700g (12-pack)  Southern Highland Organic Eggs, with best before dates up to and including May 9 2019.

The NSW Food Authority advised:

"Consumers should not eat this product.

"Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund."

This recent recall comes after five people contracted salmonella in March 2019. It is reported the salmonella is linked to eggs produced by Victoria's Bridgewater Poultry.

NSW Health says people who are infected with salmonella develop headaches, fever, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.

In March. NSW Health said that 149 of the state’s residents had become unwell since it was first reported in May 2018.
