Urgent Egg Recall Announced In New South Wales

Here's what you need to know.

News has emerged this weekend that an urgent recall has been put in place across New South Wales after it was announced that there is a suspected Salmonella presence in certain brands of eggs. 

According to a statement from the New South Wales Food Authority, the organisation has advised:

"The Egg Basket is conducting a recall of Country Fresh Eggs, Just Eggs, Chefs Choice Free Range and Chefs Choice Cage Free eggs due to potential microbial (Salmonella Enteritidis) contamination."

These products are said to have been available for purchase at The Egg Basket and Flemington Markets in NSW.

The items set for recall are those with the use by date of 14th June 2019, 20th June 2019, 24th June 2019, 29th June 2019, 5th July 2019, 9th July 2019. 

The eggs have also been stamped with the code: eb24449. 

New South Wales Food Authority advises that "any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund."
