Kmart Issues Product Recall On Popular Everyday Item
Have you got one?
Kmart has issued a product safety recall on their 360ml Glass Travel Cup, due to a potential burning hazard.
It seems as though the glass at the bottom of the cup can separate when in contact with boiling water. So that's not ideal.
The department store took to Facebook to share the recall with their fans, writing:
"At Kmart, we take the quality and safety of our products very seriously, which is why we are issuing a product safety recall of the 360ml Glass Travel Cup.
"Due to a manufacturing defect, the bottom of the glass can separate if using boiling water. This item was available for purchase between 31 December 2018 and 4 April 2019.
"We encourage customers to cease using this product immediately and return to any Kmart store for a full refund, with or without a receipt. If you have any questions please contact our Customer Service team on 1800 124 125."
One Facebook user commented on the post saying, "This actually happened to me," while many others left angry comments saying the store needed to research the items better before putting them on the shelves.
"Kmart maybe a little more due diligence with your product sourcing. People before profit please!"
Many others who own the cups commented that they were upset they would now have to return them, with most saying how much they "love" them.
The store does have other travel mugs that are made from plastic from $1.50.
