Ellen DeGeneres' $58 million mansion will make your jaw legit drop
This Santa Barbara estate is so, so beautiful
Last year, Ellen DeGeneres was said to have a net worth of $345 million, but her latest home sale could seriously up that figure. The talk show host is hoping to sell her Southern California mansion for a cool $45USD million, only five years after buying it for a reported $26.5USD mill. That’s a profit of $18.5 million. Eighteen and a half million. We're still resorting to eating Ramen a week before pay day every month.
The 10,000-square-foot property, called ‘The Villa’, features stone walls, landscaped gardens, and a pebbled courtyard. There’s six bedrooms, nine fireplaces, a pool, and a sunken tennis court.
Ellen chatted to auction house Sotheby’s about the house, saying its biggest asset is its laidback vibe.
“The house is always surprising. It reveals itself to you in new ways every day. It’s not overly manicured or tidy. It’s not overly precious or perfect. And it’s a home that manages to be both spacious and cozy at once.”
Ellen said she was super involved in restoring and decorating the place, like she’s done with other homes she’s bought and sold over the past 25 years. Neat little side project there because working as a full-time talk show host obviously isn't keeping Ellen busy enough.
