Macklemore & Ryan Lewis // Nova's Red Room

29 min read

Grammy Award-winning duo - frontman Macklemore and hip-hop producer Ryan Lewis performed their hits in Nova's Red Room and they certainly didn't disappoint!

In stark contrast to their huge show in Sydney the night before on their This Unruly Mess I've Made Tour (it was so epic that Macklemore even crowd-surfed), only a few hundred lucky fans packed into Sydney's Marquee at The Star to experience this intimate performance.

Thank you to Optus for helping us make this gig possible!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have gone far in a short time: they brought thrift stores to the masses with their breakout No. 1 single Thrift Shop, released their debut album The Heist to a No.2 spot on the Billboard 200 and came out in support of same-sex marriage with their anthem Same Love. This year they returned to popularity with Downtown and their new album This Unruly Mess I've Made.

Powered by Optus, the duo performed a mix of their new tracks and of course the older crowd favourites to a small group of winners.

The combination of a hyped-up crowd and Macklemore's electric stage presence made the performance feel as epic as an arena show despite being in the intimate setting that is Nova's Red Room.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' Aussie tour continues this week, with shows in Perth & Adelaide to come. There are still a few tickets available from Ticketmaster so get in quick!
