Harry And Meghan To Officially Split From Foundation With William And Kate
The news follows months of rumours about tension between the couples.
Rumours of a rift between Britain’s most popular royals have been swirling for months and the latest development is sure to spark them up again.
On Fitzy & Wippa today, the team discussed reports from The Sun that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will officially leave the Royal Foundation, their joint charity with William and Kate.
Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe has told the paper:
“It does seem odd. Why separate when you are both backing the same causes? Whether this is a sign of a rift, this is certainly a sign of a division.
“It is clear that Meghan and Harry were initially prepared to slot in under the wing of William and Kate but that’s not how they feel a year on.”
Meanwhile, another royal insider has told the Sunday Times the Sussexes won’t be controlled by Harry’s older brother.
"William’s quite controlling, and he was in control when it was just the three of them, but now he’s not."
"They are going to do it their way, and there is scope for them to do that."
The news comes after Harry and Meghan broke away from Kate and William’s household at Kensington Palace.
