You Can Choose How Bear Grylls Suffers In New Netflix Interactive Series

The ultimate game of ‘Would you rather?’

With the success of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch early this year, the interactive Netflix film where viewers decided to give relatives the finger or whatever, Netflix has doubled down on their plans to make more interactive media.

Last week, Netflix’s Vice President of Product, Todd Yellin, spoke about the new shows and movies

"It could be a wacky comedy," he said. "It could be a romance."

Apparently, it could also be a survival show where you get to choose how Bear Grylls suffers in the wild, ‘cause that’s exactly what Netflix’s latest interactive series is.

The show is called You vs. Wild.

No points for creativity but at least they’re straight with it.

The official release explains:

“Viewers join survival expert Bear Grylls on exciting adventures all over the world. Dense jungles, towering mountains, brutal deserts, and mysterious forests await, with tough decisions around every corner.”

Sounds intense.

And it gets even MORE intense:

“In this groundbreaking interactive adventure series, you make all the decisions and whether or not Bear succeeds or fails is totally up to you.”

Fails? Do we get to kill Bear Grylls? I’m not sure I could live with that type of guilt, man.

Simply put, each episode will provide an interactive experience where you make choices and get to direct the course of the story.

Hypothermia or starvation? Eat the worm or not eat the worm? Cop a squat or hold it in? Those sorts of things, we imagine.

Get a taste with the INTERACTIVE trailer (seriously, how cool?!).

Pretty sure we’re living in the future ‘cause that’s some insane movie magic, we gotta say.

You vs. Wild premieres on Netflix on April 10, 2019.
