Turns out Leo wasn't a shoo-in to play Jack in Titanic and we're shook
Can you imagine?!
Matthew McConaughey - multi-award winner, "alright, alright, alright" coiner - just told the whole world that he auditioned for one of the most famous roles in one of the world's most iconic film... but missed out by the skin of his teeth.
Yup! Turns out, Matthew auditioned for the role of Jack in Titanic.
While we’re pretty happy the part ultimately went to Leonardo DiCaprio, we have to admit, it would have been a damn treat to see McConaughey at that bow.
I mean, can you believe it?
Imagine if Matthew turned out to be the boy of our dreams Jack Dawson?
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Matthew revealed that he auditioned alongside Kate Winslet:
"I went and auditioned for that. I wanted that. I auditioned with Kate Winslet. Had a good audition. Walked away from there pretty confident that I had it."
"I didn't get it. I never got offered that."
And if Leo didn't get the part?! Would we still have the iconic love team/friendship goals that are Leo and Kate?
Everything turned out alright - alright, alright - in the end for Leo and Matthew; both won Best Actor at the Oscars, with Matthew winning of Dallas Buyers Club in 2014, and Leo for The Revenant in 2016.
Cheers to that!
