Stop everything because we might be getting more of Chris Evans as Captain America

Somebody get this man a shield!

If you cast your memories back to early October, you may recall that Chris Evans shared a tweet that all but made the Internet implode.

The actor, who has held the role of Captain America in the Marvel Universe for some eight years, tweeted an emotional statement sharing his gratitude to everyone involved in the franchise.

He wrote:

“Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor.

“To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."

Naturally, everyone lost their minds as a result; thinking the statement meant Evans was done playing the Cap.

However, Joe Russo has since spoken out about Evans and his Marvel journey, indicating that he's got a few battles in him yet.

"I think it was more emotional for him [Evans] than us only because he's not done yet," he told ET Canada.

"And I won't explain what that means, but the audience will soon understand what I'm talking about."

Does this mean we'll have to wait until next year (when Avengers Four hits cinemas) to find out what the hell that statement means? Probably.

Does it also mean that we'll waste endless hours scrutinising every post/comment/eyebrow movement Evans makes in the meantime? Absolutely.

Anyway, here's a Twitter thread dedicated to Chris Evans and his ridiculously adorable laugh, for no reason other than it's beautiful to watch:
