So Kylie Jenner Nearly Gave Stormi A Completely Normal Name And We’re Questioning Everything

2 min read

A rose by any other name…

There’s a lot of people in the Kardashian clan.

Most of them have normal names: Khloé, Kendall, Kourtney, Kim, Kylie.

It’s a lot of Ks but they’re normal.

But then you get to the grandkids and things start to get a little loopy in the name department.

There’s Reign, Mason, North, Chicago, Saint, True…it’s like they’ve deliberately picked the most random words in the English language.

Then Stormi Webster came along (no relation to Nikki) and we realised that naming your children after natural phenomena is apparently a thing.

We had many feelings and many questions:

Is Stormi a type of cyclone? Or just the name of the main character in an erotic novel?

And, Kylie what were you thinking?????

Turns out things could have been completely different. Turns out we could’ve held on to a little more of our sanity. Turns out Kylie originally had a completely normal name for her little girl:

Yes, as in the flower.

It’s so… pretty/normal/boring – pick your adjective of choice.

Kylie revealed the news on her Instagram Stories this week.

“One name I will tell you guys, because I don't think I'm ever going to name my [future] daughter this, but I wanted to name her Rose,” she said.

“I really liked that name. Shout out to everyone named Rose.”

Imagine a world where Rose Webster existed. It sounds so much more wholesome and we already feel safer.

But alas, Kylie went with Stormi and we’ll never look at thunder clouds the same way ever again.

“I feel like she chose her own name,” Kylie explained on Instagram.

“I looked up names, and I saw Storm, and I really liked that. But I wanted her to have an 'ie' at the end of her name like me, Kylie and Stormie.”

To finish we’ll leave you with this meme and some time to contemplate what the world is coming to:
