Selena Gomez Has Seriously Insulted Instagram

This could get ugly.

Selena Gomez has remained one of the most followed people on Instagram for a few years now. She even took out the top gong of Most Followed account in 2016.

So, when the singer - who has 152 million followers - decides to let the world know that she deleted the app on her phone, you better believe the company's ears are going to prick up.

Instagram boss Adam Mosseri is "disappointed" Selena has deleted it after confessing she's sick of the photo-sharing site.

In an interview with the BBC, Adam has responded to her snub:

"She has over 100 million followers, it's a whole other world.

"We need to make sure that creators like her are getting value out of the platform, that they don't get depressed by the platform."

He even invited Selena to get in touch with him:

"We like the criticism, we like to have the conversation."

Selena revealed she had made the decision on US morning show Live with Kelly and Ryan last week:

"It's just become really unhealthy, I think personally, for young people including myself, to spend all of their time fixating on all these comments and letting this stuff in, and it was affecting me," she said.

"It would make me depressed. It would make me feel not good about myself, and look at my body differently, and all kinds of stuff."
