Samantha Markle breaks silence over royal baby news
"I would hope that — for the sake of the baby..."
Yes, the Duchess of Sussex's estranged half-sister has spoken out about the royal baby.
The Sun shared a photo of Samantha buying a congratulatory card for the soon to be parents.
The publication also says the 53-year-old said she "won't be happy" if Meghan does not include their father in the baby's life.
"I would hope that — for the sake of the baby, the family, the world and my dad — that leaving him out of the statement was not intentional.
"I hope my dad is included and at a proper time. If he is excluded, I won't be happy. It is in the best interests of the baby for my dad to be included.
"A baby changes everything and softens everyone. I would only hope that there would be some adjustment or some way of including him."
According to an interview with the Mirror, Samantha says it's been four years since she spoke to Meghan:
“The last time we spoke—when I heard her voice—was 2014, almost 2015. Her last words were, ‘I love you, babe. I’m really glad we had this conversation. Keep in touch.'
“And [Meghan] couldn’t—she got busy. I tried. But I think she just got really busy.
“I hope now that she knows I was there. I should’ve really reached out more . . . but I’m proud of her.”
The last we heard from Samantha was the interview she did with Jeremy Vine where she apologised for the rude remarks she's made towards Meghan:
"I thought in the beginning, when we spoke publicly, I thought we were being open-hearted and even favourable and that fell on deaf ears and the media turned it into something it’s not.
"I apologise and I wish things could be different."
