Rachel McAdams just did the boldest pro-motherhood mag cover shoot ever
The oh-so-lovely Rachel McAdams is probably one of the most private actresses working today. Heck, we didn't even know she was pregnant until she was 7 months in.
But while her personal life is generally a no go, it appears that she has no qualms about letting people know how awesome it is being a mum because she just did the boldest pro-motherhood magazine cover shoot we've seen.
For the latest cover of Girls Girls Girls magazine, the Spotlight star posed with breast pumps and unsurprisingly, she looked absolutely stunning.
The actress was also decked out in Versace but that's not really the important thing here.
Rachel looked so stunning that the magazine's founder, Claire Rothstein, shared the cover to Instagram.
In the caption, Claire also shared some of the behind-the-scenes tidbits about how the cover came to be, revealing that that Rachel was 6 months post giving birth and it was her idea to take a picture of her breastfeeding.
But more importantly, Claire says that she hopes this magazine cover of Rachel will help normalise breastfeeding because there are still people who think it is weird, which it absolutely isn't.
"Obviously [Rachel] looks incredible and was quite literally the dream to work with but also this shoot was about 6 months post her giving birth to her son, so between shots she was expressing/pumping as still breastfeeding.
"We had a mutual appreciation disagreement about who’s idea it was to take this picture but I’m still sure it was hers which makes me love her even more.
"Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world and I can’t for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of.
"I don’t even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person’s perception of something so natural, so normal, so amazing then that’s great."
We fell in love with Rachel in Mean Girls, grew to love her even more in Spotlight, and now this magazine shoot has cemented her as a goddamn hero of the times in our eyes.
