Would you like to see this happen?

Seeing as almost every classic film that's ever been made is getting either a remake or a very belated sequel (hello Princess Diaries and Bad Boys), it's not all that surprising that people have begun to wonder if cult favourite The Princess Bride will be getting the same treatment.

Page Six questioned Carol King (the actress who played Valerie) about the likelihood we'll see the 1987 film remade this week, and she was quick to share her thoughts.

“I don’t think a movie remake [would work] because I think it’s perfect,” she told the publication.

The actress went on to share that she believes everyone involved in the production would probably feel the same way.

“I think that I cannot imagine them doing a remake although now they’re doing remakes of just about everything,” she said.

“But why re-make something that’s perfect the first time around? That’s what I think.”

The widely adored film was written by William Goldman and starred Robin Wright, Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin who famously gave us the line: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Guess we'll have to settle for watching the original on repeat, which we're really very okay with.

Now this will be fun.

Now it all makes sense.

“But you did not get to see Jules' bad sides.”
