Hopefully, it’s not about growing love ferns.

Alright, alright, alright class. Get your books because we have a new professor in town: Matthew McConaughey.

Yep, your favourite Southern-whisky-drinking actor can add another notch to his belt.

Catch up on the latest Fitzy & Wippa podcast:

E! News confirms Matthew is now a professor of practice at the University of Texas at Austin's Moody College of Communication.

He starts his new role in the next semester and we have no doubt the enrolment list will fill up in seconds.

The 49-year-old actor will join the department of Radio-Television-Film, where he'll continue his work as the Script to Screen instructor. He started in 2015 as a co-teacher for the class with faculty member and director, Scott Rice.

Kathleen Mabley, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Moody College of Communications, spoke to E! News about Matthew's role:

"He'll still teach the same class, Script to Screen, but now as an official employee he has the ability to also mentor students, explore teaching other classes and participate in all of the University events.

"The frequency that he'll attend the Script to Screen course this fall all still just depends on his schedule."

We're sure his acting career will, unfortunately, pull him away every now and again, but we're just hoping he starts his classes like this:
