Luke reveals he CHEATED on Lisa after the pair left Bachelor in Paradise together
Bachelor In Paradise couple Lisa Hyde and Luke McLeod dramatically broke with island protocol on Monday night, leaving the Fijian paradise. The pair claimed their noble decision was made in order to give their relationship a red hot go on the mainland.
Viewers gushed at their beautiful love.
Yup. Some things end that quickly.
Lisa revealed in an interview with News.com.au that she was no longer with Luke due to “broken trust” in January.
“Since the show, we did date for a few months but we have recently broken up for a certain reason,” she said. “If a trust is broken within a relationship it’s really hard to go back from that. I want him to be a man and own up to what he did.”
“I thought we were going well ... unfortunately that’s not the case,” she said, adding that McLeod would have to explain what he did.
Which, as you can probably infer, strongly implies he cheated.
Luke’s interview, which followed minutes later, went just about as well as a train wreck:
“We had a lot of pressure on ourselves. It’s this weird situation ... [We] can’t be in a normal relationship. Because you have to be in this secretive relationship — if people see you together and you’re out then that’s the show gone. It was a tough space and difficult to deal with.
“There’s two sides to the story and all that. I’m disappointed it didn’t work out. I genuinely want all the best [for her].”
When asked flat out if he cheated, Luke replied:
“I’d prefer not to disclose that,” he replied. “I think there are two sides to the story. I take responsibility for my actions.”
Since then, Luke has posted this cryptic message to Instagram:
"Everybody deserves a second chance. None of us are perfect," he wrote.
"We all stuff up at some point. I know I certainly have. It's how we act and respond when we do is what matters. And rather than pushing to make something work, accept that maybe things just aren't meant to be."
An interview with Now To Love has since confirmed Luke's status:
"I'm single. I'm focused on getting back to life. Things haven't turned out the way that I wanted which is unfortunate. Right now I'm throwing myself back into work and keeping busy."
