Kylie Jenner’s Skincare Brand Is Being SLAMMED Online

2 min read

And it hasn’t even launched yet.

Needs-no-introduction Kylie Jenner is expanding her empire to include a skincare line this month

It’s called Kylie Skin, and it’s set to launch on 22 May.

And it contains unspeakable horror. A walnut face scrub.

Remember being 14 with acne? Remember thinking rubbing sandpaper-like exfoliant over your inflamed bumps would magically make you look like the After shot on a Proactiv commercial?

Yeah. We tried to block that memory out too.

We learned very quickly that using harsh face scrubs *cough* walnut power face scrubs *cough* was like blasting our skin with tiny rocks.

And Kylie Jenner is being slammed online by everyone who remembers this fact of life.

The backlash comes after Kylie posted six videos to her YouTube channel, explaining each of the six products in the Kylie Skin range.

Someone had the foresight to switch the comments off on the videos, since the internet have thoughts, and not all of them good.

In the video for the walnut face scrub, Kylie claims the product is "gentle enough to use every day".

Kylie says she uses the scrub herself two or three times a week. Which she probably doesn't. Because if you're Kylie Jenner you're using skincare that costs more than $125 for a six-piece set.

She did acknowledge that "other" walnut face scrubs are "kinda harsh", but reassured fans that hers wouldn't be too abrasive.

The video ends with Kylie claiming that the walnut face scrub was her "secret to a fresh face".

If anyone else’s bull detectors are going off right now, you’re not alone.

People who lived through the '90s or are familiar with skincare 101 may remember St. Ives Apricot Scrub - that scrub you could grab from any chemist or supermarket.

This bad boy:

It had a pretty awful reputation, and it was hotly debated whether it was too harsh for skin, with many reports citing fears of “microtears”.

Back to Kylie.

People are scared her walnut face scrub will, in fact, be as harsh as the "other" scrubs.

Normal, face-washing human beings know that rubbing walnut scrub on your face every day isn’t the “secret to fresh skin”, it’s the secret to scrubbing layers of skin off, and not in a good way.

“DO NOT USE WALNUT ON YOUR FACE IT STRIPS YOUR SKIN OF MOISTURE,” one commenter wrote.

“Might as well just put a cheese grater on your face lol ,” said another.

“Kylie you can use your walnut face scrub but we’re all good :D ain’t nobody need micro tears in your face! Gosh darn it. ”

#1like1prayer for Kylie Skin.
