“I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed"

Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco has given an emotional interview about learning the series would end after its 12th season, revealing that she would play the character of Penny forever if she could.

Speaking with news.com.au she gave some insight into the cast's emotional response to the news:

“I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed and could not form words,” she said.

“We all did. The entire cast were all together and everyone cried for about 30 straight minutes. We all hugged.

“It was kind of crazy.

The actress revealed that she was surprised by the news that the series was ending:

“It was definitely a surprise to me, and especially in that moment. I just didn’t know it was going to happen like that,” she said.

“I’ve always said if it were up to me, I’d have been playing this character at 80 years old. It’s taking me a minute to digest that it’s coming to an end."

Since news of the show ending began spreading, rumours started that creator Chuck Lorre is thinking of creating a spin-off like Frasier and Joey.

Cuoco admitted she hadn’t heard anything about that but added she would love to do one if offered:

“If he called me and said ‘let’s do something’ tomorrow, I would.”
