Justin Bieber Apologises For His April Fools’ Day Joke… Kinda

Is it too late now to say sorry?

Justin Bieber is hoping it's not too late to say sorry as he apologises for his "insensitive" April Fools' Day joke.

If you missed it, The Biebs played the lot of us when he posted a sonogram on Instagram with no caption. Understandably, we all assumed wife Hailey Bieber was pregnant. He then posted two more pics to reassure everyone it was just a joke.

Hailey was quick to comment on the original upload with, "Very funny... " But not everyone was laughing. Many social media users were quick to point out that joking about pregnancy is "insensitive".

Followers were quick to remind JB that many women have or are struggling with conceiving or have lost their children.

“Of course justin bieber will think a pregnancy announcement would be funny on April fools. esp so when 1 in 7 women have had a miscarriage. not to mention those suffering from infertility,” wrote one Twitter user.

Now, Biebs has issued an apology.

The singer shared a screenshot of one of the many stories written about his joke's backlash and captioned the pic with an apology, well kind of.

“There’s always gonna be people offended, there’s also people who don’t take jokes very well, I am a prankster and it was APRIL FOOLS.

“A lot of people I know, their first go to prank on April fools is telling their parents they are pregnant to get a big reaction. But I will apologise anyway and take responsibility and say sorry to people who were offended. I truly don’t want anyone to be hurt by a prank.”

However, the apology has not been received well by some fans, @maddieegy wrote under the post:

“You’re still a kid if you don’t understand why people were offended by a fake pregnancy announcement. It’s an insensitive, stupid, and deeply hurtful thing to do.”
