"We're kidding ourselves if we think people have stopped talking."

It's here.

No, not Game of Thrones, we’re talking about Big Little Lies, obviously!

Well, the first trailer is here and we're just getting a little excited. The same all-star cast is back in Monterey after the climactic season one finale.

Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz are all back with a little help from a little unknown actress called MERYL F*****G STREEP.

Obviously we're joking about the unknown bit. This will be Streep's first television appearance for the first time since 2003’s Angels in America. Streep is playing Perry’s mother, Mary Louise Wright, who arrives in Monterey over worry about her mourning grandchildren.

According to TV Line even Alexander Skarsgård  (who played Celeste’s now-deceased husband, Perry) is expected to appear in “some capacity.”

The trailer starts with Celeste Write (Kidman) telling the group:

"We're kidding ourselves if we think people have stopped talking."

Then a surfer asks Jane Chapman (Woodley):

"You're one of the Monterey Five, right?"

Big Little Lies was was originally intended as a limited series. The show wrapped up its seven-episode run in April 2017 pretty much where Liane Moriarty novel finished.

However, the show was such an incredible success, viewers basically demanded for another season so HBO decided to renew it for another year.

On CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, Kidman said:

“The reason we did [a second season] is because audiences were like, ‘You have to do a second season!'”

As for the premiere day, HBO has revealed that Big Little Lies Season 2 will air on June 9th!
