We can't even deal with who they chose for Nala!

There were mixed feelings when it was announced Disney would be producing a remake of The Lion King earlier this year, but after the cast was confirmed today, we've been pretty damn excited!

It was rumoured for a while that Beyonce would voice Nala alongside Donald Glover as Simba and it's now been confirmed that Queen Bey will be gracing us with her voice in the film!

Beyonce took to Facebook to share this snap of the confirmed cast and we are getting seriously excited:

While we already knew Glover and James Earl Jones were confirmed for the film, it's very exciting to see names like John Oliver, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Keegan-Michael Key amongst the cast.

Jon Favreau, the director of the film, released a press release saying:

“It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life."

Favreau, who you would know as Happy Hogan in the Iron Man/Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers films (he also directed the first and second Iron Man films), has already undertaken a Disney remake with The Jungle Book. He will use similar techniques to recreate live-action with digital effects, so the animals will look very real but will talk just like in the original.

Hans Zimmer returns to score the remake with rumours Beyonce will have some influence on the music.

Favreau has already shown the entire 'Circle of Life' scene at the D23 Expo and a reporter at Gizmodo said they were "literally shaking with emotion seeing how gorgeous the visual effects techniques translated to this story."  So, even though we were originally sceptical, we are fully on board now!
